The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s Coastal Pelagic Species Management Team will hold an online meeting, which is open to the public. The online meeting will be held Monday, August 2, 2021, beginning at 1 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time and continuing until 4 p.m. or until business is completed.
Purpose of the meeting
The primary purpose of this online meeting is to discuss the NMFS rule to implement provisions of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSA) that require all Fishery Management Plans (FMPs) to establish a standardized bycatch reporting methodology (SBRM) to assess the amount and type of bycatch occurring in a fishery. Other matters such as administrative, ecosystem, and coastal pelagic species topics at upcoming Pacific Council meetings, and the Coastal Pelagic Species Stock Assessment and Fishery Evaluation document may be addressed as well.
