The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Council) Highly Migratory Species Management Team (HMSMT) will hold an online meeting, which is open to the public. The online meeting will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and Friday, June 4, 2021, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time and continuing until business is completed.

The HMSMT completed all of its business on Thursday, June 3 and will not meet on Friday June 4.

Purpose of the meeting

The HMSMT will discuss the contents and production of the HMS Stock Status and Fishery Evaluation (SAFE) document. On the Council’s website, the SAFE document is provided online and periodically updated with information on HMS fisheries, management of fisheries, and the status of stocks. At this meeting, the HMSMT will particularly focus on methods to provide data on commercial and recreational fisheries and consider topics that need to be expanded or added to the SAFE document.
