Coastal Pelagic Species Advisory Subpanel to hold online meeting March 4, 2024

The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) will convene a webinar meeting of its Coastal Pelagic Species Advisory Subpanel (CPSAS) to discuss items on the Pacific Council’s March 2024 meeting agenda.  The online meeting is open to the public and will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pacific Time or until business for the day has been completed. This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. In the event an outage occurs or technical issues arise that impact the experience of remote attendees, we will attempt to resolve them but ultimately we cannot guarantee that they will be resolved satisfactorily.

Purpose of the meeting

The primary purpose of the CPSAS online meeting is to discuss and develop work products and recommendations for the Pacific Council’s March 2024 meeting.  Topics will include reviewing the California Current Ecosystem report and fishery ecosystem plan initiatives.  Other items on the Pacific Council’s March agenda may be discussed as well. The meeting agenda will be available in advance of the meeting. No management actions will be decided by the CPSAS. CPSAS recommendations will be considered by the Pacific Council at their March Council meetings.

The online meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific Time or until business is completed. This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. Purpose of the meeting

The primary purpose of this online meeting is to provide briefings for Pacific Council advisory body members and the public on two topics on the Pacific Council’s March 5-11, 2024, meeting agenda. The first briefing will present the 2023-2024 California Current Ecosystem Status Report. The second briefing will cover the EWG’s recommendations on work under the Pacific Council’s Fishery Ecosystem Plan Initiative 4, which explores ways to integrate climate and ecosystem information into Pacific Council fishery management processes. In addition to providing these briefings, the EWG may discuss other matters related to its work for the Pacific Council.
