November 2024 Decision Summary Document

Council Meeting Decision Summary Documents are highlights of significant decisions made at Council meetings. Fishery policy decisions made by the Council are formally transmitted to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) as recommendations and are not final until NMFS approval.  Results of agenda items that do not reach a level of highlight significance are typically not described in the Decision Summary Document.  For a more detailed account of Council meeting discussions, see the Council meeting record and transcripts.   

Salmon Technical Team work session February 18-21, 2025

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Salmon Technical Team (STT) will hold a work session February 18-21, 2025, which is open to the public. The meeting will start on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, through Friday, February 21, 2025. The meeting is tentatively scheduled to be held in person at the Pacific Council office located at 7700 NE Ambassador Place, Suite 101, Portland, OR 97220; however, the venue is subject to change and may be held online. 

Salmon Technical Team work session January 21-24, 2025

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Salmon Technical Team (STT) will hold a work session January 21-24, 2025, which is open to the public. The meeting will start on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and run through Friday, January 24. The meeting is tentatively scheduled to be held in person at the Pacific Council office located at 7700 NE Ambassador Place, Suite 101, Portland, OR 97220; however, the venue is subject to change and may be held online. 

Pacific Halibut Area 2A online meeting January 16, 2025

The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) will host an online meeting of the Area 2A Pacific halibut governmental management entities that is open to the public. The online meeting will be held Thursday, January 16, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time, or until business for the day has been completed.

Ad Hoc Marine Planning Committee to hold online meeting December 5, 2024

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Ad Hoc Marine Planning Committee (MPC) will hold an online public meeting. This meeting will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time or until business for the day has been completed. This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. In the event an outage occurs or technical issues arise that impact the experience of remote attendees, we will attempt to resolve them but ultimately we cannot guarantee that they will be resolved satisfactorily. 

Groundfish Subcommittee of the Scientific and Statistical Committee to hold an in person meeting with a web broadcast on December 2-3, 2024

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Groundfish Subcommittee of the Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) will will convene an in person meeting with a web broadcast to update the Accepted Practices Guidelines for the Groundfish Stock Assessments document. This meeting is open to the public and will be held Monday, December 2, from 1 p.m. -5 p.m. Pacific Time, and Tuesday, December 3, from 8:30 a.m. until business for the day has been completed. This meeting is being conducted in person with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. In the event an outage occurs or technical issues arise that impact the experience of remote attendees, we will attempt to resolve them but ultimately we cannot guarantee that they will be resolved satisfactorily.

Ad Hoc Equity & Environmental Justice Committee online meeting November 6, 2024

The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) will convene an online meeting of its Ad Hoc Equity and Environmental Justice Committee (EEJC). This online meeting is open to the public and will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time.  The scheduled ending time for this meeting is an estimate and will adjourn when business for the day is completed.

Ecosystem-Based Management Subcommittee of the Scientific and Statistical Committee to hold online meeting November 5, 2024

The Ecosystem-Based Management Subcommittee of the Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Pacific Council) Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC) will convene an online meeting. The SSC Ecosystem-Based Management Subcommittee meeting is open to the public and will be held Tuesday, November 5 from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. (Pacific Time) or when business for the day has been completed.

Coastal Pelagic Species Management Team to hold online meeting November 5, 2024

The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) will convene a webinar meeting of its Coastal Pelagic Species Management Team (CPSMT) to discuss items on the Pacific Council’s November 2024 meeting agenda.  The online meeting is open to the public and will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pacific Time or until business for the day has been completed. This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment.
