The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) will convene an online meeting of the Ecosystem-Based Management Subcommittee of its Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC ES), which is open to the public. The online meeting has been cancelled. This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. In the event an outage occurs or technical issues arise that impact the experience of remote attendees, we will attempt to resolve them but ultimately we cannot guarantee that they will be resolved satisfactorily.
Purpose of the meeting
The SSC ES will meet via webinar to review ecosystem science topics identified by the Pacific Council for potential incorporation in the California Current Integrated Ecosystem Assessment Team’s Ecosystem Status Report (ESR). These topics include incorporation of new data types and indices from glider surveys along the U.S. West Coast; a focused review of short reports on ESR indicators tailored to specific stocks that can support the development of new risk tables and updates to existing ones; and a review of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation and its continued relevance as an indicator in the ESR. This review of science topics may potentially inform future annual reports to the Pacific Council on the state of the California Current Ecosystem. The SSC ES meeting is open to the public. A detailed meeting agenda will be available on the Pacific Council’s website prior to the meeting.
