The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) will convene an online meeting of its Advisory Bodies; this meeting is open to the public. The online briefing will be held Friday, October 9, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) or until discussion is finished.

This meeting is being conducted remotely with a web broadcast that provides the opportunity for remote public comment. In the event an outage occurs or technical issues arise that impact the experience of remote attendees, we will attempt to resolve them, but ultimately we cannot guarantee that they will be resolved satisfactorily.
Purpose of the meeting
The Pacific Fishing Effort Mapping Project (PacFEM) is a set of mapping dashboards that display the best-available publicly accessible data on commercial fishing effort footprints on the West Coast. Planning for new and expanding uses of offshore space, such as offshore aquaculture, mining, sea floor exploration, energy transmission, or renewable energy demands detailed data on existing uses, such as commercial fisheries.
