These files are the base input files used for the 2025 Pacific Hake/Whiting stock assessment.
Stock Synthesis (Methot and Wetzel, 2013) version 3.30.23.1 was the modeling platform used.

The assessment uses a Bayesian framework for estimation, and was implemented using the adnuts
R package (Monnahan and Kristensen, 2018). There are some unique features of the Pacific
Hake assessment, and related files, that are different from other groundfish assessments.
The Pacific Hake assessment is fully Bayesian with inference (results, derived
quantities, and other output metrics) coming from a large number of MCMC
evaluations. This year it used 8,000 evaluations. This means that there are
effectively 8,000 report files to summarize for inference. We do not include
8,000 files in the archive. For further information, please visit

the stock assessment document for more information.
