NMFS Publishes Proposed Rule for Salmon Amendment 16

The November 2-7, 2011 meeting of the Pacific Fishery Management Council will be streamed live on the internet. The live audio will be broadcast starting with the &#147Open Session&#148 scheduled to start Wednesday, November 2 at 9:30 a.m. Pacific time. Get the November meeting agenda.

To listen, follow the agenda, and view the powerpoint presentations, go to the PFMC Live Meeting link. Please note that your name and email address will be required to join the meeting (this will expedite any technical assistance if the need arises).

U.S. Coast Guard's Commercial Fishing Safety Advisory Committee to Meet

The U.S. Coast Guard’s Commercial Fishing Safety Advisory Committee (CFSAC) will meet in Seattle, Washington to discuss various issues relating to safety in the commercial fishing industry. This meeting will be open to the public.

The CFSAC will meet on November 14, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on November 15–16, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This meeting may close early if all business is finished.

November 2011 Briefing Book Available on Website

The Briefing Book for the November 2011 Council meeting has been posted to the Council’s website on the “Current Briefing Book” webpage. The Briefing Book contains “situation summaries” (brief summaries that provide background for each agenda item), reports and materials for each agenda item, and written public comment.

Annual Banquet to Honor Mark Cedergreen, Jerry Mallet, and Rod Moore

At each November PFMC meeting, the Council honors its outgoing members for their contributions to west coast fisheries management. This year Mr. Mark Cedergreen, Mr. Jerry Mallet, and Mr. Rod Moore will be honored for their service. The banquet will take place on Wednesday, November 2, 2011.
