Groundfish Endangered Species Workgroup to Hold Meeting, February 19-20, 2019 in Seattle

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Council) Groundfish Endangered Species Workgroup (GESW) will hold a meeting on Tuesday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 20, 2019. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. each day and continue each day until business is concluded.  Members of the public can participate in person or via teleconference through “Go To Meeting.”  Those details are provided below.

Purpose of the Meeting

The primary purpose of the meeting is to review recent information on take of species listed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in the Pacific Coast groundfish fishery (other than salmonids). The workgroup will provide recommendations to the Council on any additional mitigation measures needed to meet the requirements of the ESA, as implemented through the terms and conditions in the most recent biological opinion for the fishery.
