CANCELLED: Salmon Technical Team and Scientific and Statistical Salmon Subcommittee to Hold Joint Webinar October 10

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Council) Salmon Technical Team (STT) and Scientific and Statistical Committee’s Salmon Subcommittee (SSC) joint meeting via webinar scheduled for Wednesday, October 10, 2018, has been cancelled

At the September 2018 Council meeting, the Council received reports stating that none of the three review topics identified would be ready for review in 2018.  In addition, the STT/SSC discussion on the technical review of the draft salmon rebuilding plans will occur at the November Council meeting, in order to provide more time to develop the technical aspects contained in the draft salmon rebuilding plans.

 

The Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (Council) Salmon Technical Team and Scientific and Statistical Committee’s Salmon Subcommittee will hold a joint meeting via webinar on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, which is open to the public.  The webinar will begin at 9 a.m., Pacific Time, and will continue until business for the day is completed.

Major topics of discussion will include any salmon methodology review items identified by the Council at the September 2018 meeting, and a technical review of the draft salmon rebuilding plans.  If time and interest allows, the teams may also discuss additional topics, including but not limited to future Council agenda items, and additional technical aspects of the salmon rebuilding plans.

The purpose of the methodology review is to discuss and review proposed changes to analytical methods used in salmon management.  Topics for discussion will be adopted by the Council at their September 6-12, 2018 meeting in Seattle, Washington.  Any results and recommendations from the methodology review, or the review of the Salmon Rebuilding Plans will presented at the November 1-8, 2018 Council meeting in San Diego, California where the Council is scheduled to discuss both topics.
