April 5-11, 2018 Council Meeting

The Pacific Fishery Management Council and its advisory bodies will meet April 5-11, 2018 in Portland, Oregon to address issues related to salmon, groundfish, ecosystem, coastal pelagic
species, and Pacific halibut.

April Briefing Book

  • The April 2018 briefing book link will be available on or around the evening of March 26, 2018.  If you are not already on our e-mail list, please sign up for our listserver to receive the e-mail notification when the briefing book is posted.

April 2018 advance briefing book public comment deadline:  Monday, March 19, 2018; 5 pm

April 2018 supplemental public comment deadline:  Friday, March 30, 2018; 5 pm

  • Public comment materials received at the Council office after the Monday, March 19, 5:00 pm deadline, but BY 5:00 pm (Pacific Time), Friday, March 30, 2018 will be included in the supplemental materials distributed to the Council on the first day of the April meeting.
  • You may email your comments to:  pfmc.comments@noaa.gov or send to the Council office.

Public Comment Guidelines “After the March 30, 2018 5 PM” Deadline

  • Comments received AFTER the March 30, 5 pm date specified above will not be photocopied and distributed by the Council staff.
  • For late comments after the March 30, 5 pm date specified above, individuals need to hand deliver their comments to the Council Secretariat (Cascade C Room) at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel, no later than 5 p.m. the day before the corresponding agenda item is scheduled on the Council’s agenda. These written submissions should include the submitter’s name, the Council agenda item number, and the Council meeting date.
  • Comments will be accepted in electronic form and hard copy.

The public should be aware that the Council does not have time to thoroughly review extensive written comments submitted at the meeting. The Council’s advisory bodies may not have a chance to review such comment.   The Council will not pay for comments transmitted to the meeting hotel.   Comments submitted that are not in support of oral testimony will be included in the briefing materials for the next Council meeting.

How to Submit PowerPoint Presentations or Videos

If your comments contain a PowerPoint presentation or video, such PowerPoints and videos need to be turned in no later than 5 pm the day before the corresponding agenda item is scheduled on the Council’s agenda.  PowerPoints and videos must be sent to:  Kris.Kleinschmidt@noaa.gov.

Electronic slide presentations need to be turned in no later than 5 p.m. the day before the corresponding agenda item is scheduled on the Council’s agenda. This requirement is to allow time for proper labeling as to Council agenda item, the orderly distribution of material, and so that PowerPoint type files can be loaded on the hard drive of the podium laptop, scanned for viruses, saved and filed in the administrative record, posted on the Council Briefing Book website, and checked to make sure the presentation can run smoothly.   Please see the Protocol Policy on submitting electronic slide presentation materials at the Council meetings for full direction, expectations, and equipment available for use during presentations.
