Pacific Council to Address Variety of Fishery Issues - Including
Amendments to Groundfish and Salmon Fishery Management Plans
Council Meeting Dates: September 11-17, 2009
The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) and its advisory entities will meet September 11-17, 2009, in Foster City, California to address issues related to groundfish, Pacific halibut, highly migratory species, coastal pelagic species, and
essential fish habitat.
Agenda
Key agenda items include Council considerations to:

Review miscellaneous implementation matters and regulation language for the
trawl rationalization program.

Approve final stock assessments for developing biennial 2011-2012 groundfish
fisheries.

Adopt inseason adjustments to the 2009 and 2010 groundfish fisheries.

Consider annual catch limits and accountability measures for groundfish and
salmon fisheries.

Consider changes to the Pacific halibut catch sharing plan and annual fishery
regulations for 2010.

All meetings are open to the public, except a closed session of the Council to be held

Public Comment Guidelines
The public is encouraged to comment, either verbally at the meeting or in writing. Timing of agenda items may change as the meeting progresses, and items not completed on the scheduled day will be carried over to later in the meeting, usually the next day.
Oral Public Comments

Oral public comments will be accepted prior to action on each agenda item. Testifiers must register at the entry desk inside the meeting room prior to the beginning of comment on that agenda item.
Written Public Comments

Written public comments are accepted by the Council at any time. However, the
public is encouraged to submit written comments as far in advance of the
meeting as possible.

Written comments received by the following deadlines will be provided to
Council members in their entirety, including the name and address of the person
submitting the comment, and will be made part of the full public.accessible
meeting record.

Comments received by 11:59 p.m. August 26, 2009 will be distributed with
briefing book materials prior to the meeting.

Comments received after August 26 but by 11:59 p.m. September 4, 2009 will be
distributed at the onset of the meeting.

After the above deadlines, only written comments received from individuals
registered to testify on the pertinent agenda item will be distributed to Council
members. Please bring 40 copies to the meeting with the Agenda Item Topic
Number in the upper right corner of the front page of each copy. If you have an electronic version, please submit that along with your hard copy (if available). Refer to the Agenda for the topic numbers; i.e. Agenda Item B.1.d refers to public comment under Current Habitat Issues.
