Groudfish Inseason Actions from June 2012 Meeting
The Council considered recent information on ongoing fisheries and recommended the following inseason adjustments:
- Reduce the limited entry sablefish daily trip limits north of 36° N. latitude starting September 1, 2012 for the rest of the year. The limits would change from 1,000 pounds per week, not to exceed 4,000 pounds per two months to 800 pounds per week, not to exceed 1,600 lbs.
- Increase the the limited entry shelf rockfish trip limit south of 34° 27′ N. latitude from 3,000 lb./2 months to 4,000 lb./2 months as soon as possible, through the end of the year.
- Increase the limited entry fixed gear trip limits for bocaccio south of 34°27′ N latitude from “300 lb./2 mo” to “500 lb./2 mo” as soon as possible, through the end of the year.
